I have never detailed a car in my life. So,now that I just bought a new Lotus Exige club racer, I thought this would be a good time to learn. I just bought all the supplies, that I think I need($800). Now I need to go to work. With out reinventing the wheel,I need to learn the tricks/shortcuts to make the labor more fun. Thanks All

Detailing my cars is something I really enjoy doing. When I lived in Michigan I would store my sports cars during the winter. I would heat my garage and spend a lot of time working on and detailing my cars until spring. Post up some pictures of your detailed pics of Lotus when you're done.

Welcome from the Tri-Cities/Mid-Michigan. (Yes those people below the bridge). Now I know if I need to do a quick detail while visiting one of the casinos in the UP that I can stop and pick up some supplies. Welcome to AG. Its addictive.

I've only buffed out one Lotus and it was an Elise, it has a ton of black, "Pebble Textured" trim on the exterior, lots of vinyl graphics and a clear bra on the front, point is there wasn't much paint left to buff taking all these other components into account.

When you get ready to post any questions be sure to include what product you have on hand and if you bought a polisher you might want to include that so we can provide you with information specific to your products and tools.

I could post some links and videos right now but I don't know what you have to work with?

Cool car, these things are very fast so stay safe while you enjoy it.

Hey, That's my car! Well not really, but that is what it looks like. It's a beautiful car and I want to keep it looking better than brand new. I just bought a Flex 3401,Foam cannon HP, Pinnaccle-Wolfgang Souveran Kit,Ultra Poly Clay,DP polishing rejuvenater,Two Bucket Wash System,Universal Pad Washer, and a few other things. Now I need to listen(read), learn as much as I can,and go to work learning a new skill.Hoping to get all those goodies today, and go to work(labor of love) Can't wait to see some of you at the car shows. Thanks for letting me part of this forum

Welcome!

Let me know if you ever want to run the road course at BIR in Minnesota. A friend sets up several track days in the summer, open to any car and any skill level.

It is a blast!
