What are the little grey and red pads? Are they like scotch brite or sand paper pads?

Mothers lists them as "Severe restoration pads" for removing pitting, scratching, etc.

I have the liquid version of the Synwax that I picked up OTC a while ago. What is this wax good for?? does it have any cleaning abilities? I assume it is a synthetic, does anyone have a length of durability? Thanks.

I had the opportunity to use a pre-production sample of the Mothers FX paste. I liked it a lot. I believe it has light cleaners.

It is a pre-softened synthetic so it spreads and removes easily even if you over apply. It is significantly more durable (sheeting, slickness, gloss) than the FX liquid wax. Since it sheets water more readily it water spots less as well in addition easier to clean.

I found the look slightly different than the FX Synwax liquid version -- more like a carnuaba wax (softer look) versus the clear, bright shine of the liquid version.

That sounds very similar to the new Meguiar's Gold Class Carnauba Plus paste wax that was just released.

I hope this version is better than the previous version since I was thoroughly unimpressed with the original FX liquid version.
