Mid-Range Sealent for a Black Car

I've got a 2001 Jetta and I'm working on my little secret stash of supplies apart from the supplies I use to detail my 'mass production cars'. I was going to use the Klasse Glaze And Sealant but I heard that's no good on black cars. Currently what I'll be using for my paint is: XMT Swirl Remover 1,2,3,4 (probably won't need 3 or 4 the paint is in good condition), Pinnicle Signature Series II Wax, and the Klasse Sealant and Glaze. I've heard that the Wolfgang sealant is good but its way too expensive, I'm looking at the Meguairs Sealant 2.0. Also any glaze recommendations?

klasse topped with ss 2 is a fine combo no matter what color.

I haven't used it personally, but I've read some good things about Chemical Guys EZ Creme Glaze.

As far as sealant, Opti-Seal. It's $25 for a tiny little 8oz bottle, but a single ounce is enough for 3-4 cars.

I drive a black GTI and loved the look of Optimum Opti-seal topped with Optimum Car Wax (spray wax).

+1. The Meg's Sealant 2.0 (http://www.autogeek.net/meguiars-21-synthetic-sealant-2-0.html) has great reviews and is priced reasonable $17.99 for 16 oz..

Be careful if using Klasse. Since they are more difficult to remove, you could mar up the black when removing the sealant. Make sure you have a QD handy, and a good MF towel.

Although the 2001 black is nowhere near as soft as the 2010 black ;) For that one I would never use Klasse or high content carnauba waxes.

Even though Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant isn't in your mid-range, it is a sealant very difficult to beat for black. Its my go-to sealant for black paints.

budman-soon as I responded Wolfgang popped into my head. Never used it personally, but it will probably be my next addition.

Yes, the newer VW black sure seems to be more prone to marring. VW/Audi always had a reputation for having hard clears.

Might as well throw Jeff Werkstat/jet seal out there. Recently saw a new Black Camaro with a jetseal base topped with souveran that looked amazing. You could say it was the nauba but the finish definately benefited from the sealant as evident in the look.

DG 601/105 is a real good combo for any color and is cheap. Another really good sealant is FK 1000p Hi Temp. FK 1000p gives the look of a glossy thick looking clear and has one of the best beading and sheeting abilities I have ever seen its also extremely slick and durable. I think its way ahead of collinite.
