A HELLUVA lot less swirls now...still a few deeper ones, but im not using a rotary just yet...and I wasnt planning on doing much cutting with the orange and red pads that came with the Griots Garage DA

This last pic really annoys me, seems the previous owner never mentioned any body work, those are in the metal, and painted over!! This will hopefullyl be fixed in the near future.

Overall, im happy with the results for now...now onto doing the wheels/tires/windows.

Already have some Megs 105/205 with more pads on the way, for the next detail session when the weather warms up a bit to get the rest of the swirls/light scratches out

Cant wait to do the wifes van...that should take like 2 days...

Feed back please

Looks good man.

Don't take offense, but I saw Competition Orange 2004 SVT... on the thread and I was like "YES a Cobra", then saw Focus. LOL I love the color regardless of the car man.

Big improvement getting the swirls out. It doesn't look like that polish finished off real good. After removing the swirls a nice finishing polish and pad would give you a lot more shine to the paint. You could get that orange to glow.

:iagree: One product, you used, that i do not like is the Megs NXT Tech Wax. Sure, It can make the vehicle shine very quickly and well BUT, after the vehicle gets cleaned a time or two, the wax/shine goes adios. I used that stuff on an '03 Black SVT Cobra Convertable for a major car show on South Padrey Island last year.

What part of Texas as you located at?

Let me just say, I had a 2001 Focus ZTS (Twilight Blue) and LOVED IT. Your car looks great man. Good job.

Let me warn you ahead of time on the Griot's...DO NOT buy the Hydro-tech pads to use with the Griot's if you use it on speed 5-6 a lot. Because the backing pad on the hydro-tech pads doesn't cover the entire back of the pad, and due to the pressure you use with a DA, the backing plate will eat through the edge of the pads and will also start to separate the loop section of the pad either by wearing down the adhesive or tearing the pad apart where the looping pad starts...trust me. I spent about $150 on hydro-tech pads and none of them lasted more than a use or two before they were falling apart. They correct fantastically, but the Griot's is just to violent I suppose.

Dont plan on using hyrdotech, already have this on the way:

Meguiars Ultra Polish Kit with 5.5 Inch Pads, Meguiars Mirror Glaze Polishes, Meguiar's Polish Kit, 5.5 inch buffing pad kit (http://www.autogeek.net/meguiars-ultra-polish-kit.html)

221whp without Nitrous (bring it Cobra boys :) :hungry: ) and weighs 2700 pounds

lol.

Dallas.

I did not use teh NXT on it this time. Just the swirl remover and the yellow wax (that was just part of the "new toy" photo, lol)

I am aware that NXT looks good for about 3-4 weeks, then it deminishes, but it came with a $20 kit i bought at Target.

This was really just a test run with my new Griots DA

When the weather clears up a bit more, there will be more time and product used (see above, its on the way already)

I love the Griots, not much for me to really compare it too, its 10x better than my old craftsman orbital buffer (that thing is HUGE!). I did get to play around with my buddies PC7424, and they feel about the same. The Griots defintally has more power.

LOL same here! Its still an SVT, so you gotta love it :xyxthumbs:

LOL. I love cobra fan boys. My car makes the same "blower whine" theirs do. Its fun to see the look on their faces when the Nitrous purges :dblthumb2:

I love all SVT products though.

Thanks for all the feedback! Keep it coming!
