I have a 2004 Pontiac GTO. The color on this car is Phantom Black Metallic.

I currently use zaino, and infact since I bought this car off the showroom floor in 04 I have always used zaino. It is time for a change.

I had planned to go with the Pinnacle Souveran, but have recently been reading about the Wolfgang Fuzion, and now I am unsure what route to take.

The car has pretty much become a garage queen. It has never seen snow, and really doesn't see rain anymore. I tend to drive it maybe 2 to 3 days a week when the weather is nice, and when I am driving it I wash it usually once a week. The zaino seems to last about a year no problem.

I understand that either choice is not going to last as long as the zaino, and I am fine with that.

Whatever product I go with, I plan to buy the kit off of autogeek that includes the car wash, detail spray, tub of wax, and pre wax cleaner.

What one would you choose and why?

I would go with the Souveran for that deep wet look. Being a garage queen...you should get 6-8 weeks. Fusion will bring out the metallic. Both are great waxes, but Fusion is a blend of nuba and polymers thus giving you more durability. Btw nice looking ride.

Very nice car. I would go with the Pinnacle Sizzling Shine Kit. Souveran is my favorite wax, very easy application and removal. It is every bit as good as advertised. Fuzion is a very good wax but, it is not $80 better than Souveran. You will be very happy with this kit.

Here's a couple shots of my black Z06. One with Souveran Paste and one with Fuzion. Which one is which?

You could put Turtle wax on that black beauty and it would still look good.

Thanks Ron!

Here's another shot with nothing at all on the paint after polishing with Menzerna PO85RD and an IPA wipe down.

If you polish your car in a good way (like the Corvette) you have 90-95% of the wetlook/gloss you can get. The last 5% is a glaze and/or wax. I don't think you can see any difference between Souveran and Fuzion. I have Fuzion myself, never tried Souveran but Fuzion is for me the most easiest wax I have ever tried so I would go for the Fuzion.

I have used both waxes on my solid black car. My car looks terrific in both of them. Both are very easy to apply and remove. I have never really tested the durability of either, but the consensual wisdom is that Fuzion is more durable than Souveran.

Do I see a difference between them? Maybe, maybe not. I think I do, but I may be fooling myself. I think the Fuzion gives a slightly wetter look; the Souveran, a deeper look. I think ...

With both waxes, I would always wait until they are on sale.

I received Fuzion for Christmas and still waiting to try it out. I will say this though, after taking the top layer down that stuff was like butter! I can't wait to try it. Seems like it will be super easy to use. Mine was ordered during the sale so it didn't come with a MF towel, but I can sacrifice that for a good sale!

I have noticed my car always seems to look better after an alcohol wipe down then it does after the 3 layers of z5. The zaino makes the warmth and depth go away.

You can not go wrong with either wax. I have noticed a little more of a warmth/wetter look with Souveran. With the Fuzion a more brighter wet look. It does look great on a dark metallic paint. It was used on Meghan's 300 at DTFIII

From my experience the Souveran Paste will make the metallic pop less. The Fuzion will bring the Metallic out more. Both look great on black cars.

While Zaino does make paint shine well I don't care for the look. I'll take the warm glow of a carnauba wax anyday.
