How do you know if you have removed the scratchs(swirl marks) or just filled them.I don't want a bunch of swirl marks to show after a couple of washs.

Generally you can hide them using a glaze or wax.... but to permantley remove them... you can use Megs 105/205/85rd combo or the Menz line. Both are great companies and will get the job done.

Do an alcohol wipe down and use a halogen light or better yet, natural sun light.

Do some type of wipe down after working your polish. IPA (Isophoric Alcohol) is one commonly recommended and I use when testing. Usually mix 50/50 IPA & water, spray the section and wipe off.

However as you'll see in several posts, it can leave a haze. I've seen Mike recommend in a couple of threads to use Mineral Spirits but I've yet to try it as of yet.

Also, like the products that have been recommended, look for products that don't contain fillers.

Just to note, you also received answers to that same question here,

What it means to remove swirls, scratches and water spots out of automotive clear coats (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/faq/19986-what-means-remove-swirls-scratches-water-spots-out-automotive-clear-coats.html)

And here,

You really only need to post a question one time to a forum and I'm going to combine your two dedicated threads.

Thank you.
