View Full Version : what is causing those white powder?

am using my pc 7424 and just recently, im noticing a white powder while the pc is spinning? is it the blue tape when getting hit by the pc7424? or what gives?

Polish dust? I use OP and OC so I don't have dusting, but hitting the tape never did anything.

What product are you using? It probably is dusting. Do you prep the pad before polishing? If you do, you have two options. 1. Stop once the dusting begins and reapply more product and do another pass. 2. Spray some QD in there right before you think it is going to dust, and it will give you a slightly longer working time.

thanks for the tips. will try it.

am using XMT #2 and #1 using orange and white pads, respectively. i spray some pad conditioner prior to using da polisher.

It's probably dust. You might be overloading the pad with polish.

Use water, qd, or xmt polishing pad conditioner after each section, really cuts the dust down, also i have a tool, don't know what its called, but ag sells it, that breaks up all th ecaked polish on the pad. works well I use it like twice on an entire car. I prefer the xmt pad conditioner, works wonders.

sounds like dust from polish. Either the pads werent cleaned well, or the polish you are using is flashing rather quickly.
