I am giving my sister-in-law an early Christmas present and getting her car ready for an Ohio winter. First let me say she has had the car for over a year and never waxed it or had it detailed.
I have the XMT 1-4 and plan on using them to correct some of the defects. My problem is I’ll only have it for today and so I can’t do my normal KAIO & SG w/ an 845 toper. Any opinions on what I should use? I currently have in my bag KAIO, SG, 845, NXT 2.0, and Megs Deep Crystal. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Man, hope you aren't working on it today... too nice in NE Ohio to be working on anything. Not many of these days left!

The jury is out on how time-constrained you are. How bad is the finish? Swirls? RIDS? What level of correction are you seeking? Your going to have to determine your priorities.

Assuming you want to concentrate on the paint, you'll have to determine what process to use after working a test spot. Nobody here can help with that now, you have to see what you've got to work with. Perhaps after wash and clay you can get away with the lighter polish to bring up gloss and eliminate some swirls and then slap on a coat of 845. If you find swirls that need more attention you can spot work 'em with the stouter polish/pad combination. If you start early and can have the car til late this may leave enough time for attention to the interior or under the hood, doorjambs etc. If you're going for serious correction and need a multi-step polish all over the car you'll obviously have to skip something else to devote your limited time to that.

If you're really lucky and the car isn't too bad you may get good results with spot correction and a dose of KAIO and the 845 topper. Great look and longevity. One thing for sure, if you go whole hog and try for perfection you'll just be making more work for yourself later. The combo of a black car and a woman that apparently doesn't give it proper care will just drive you nuts every time you see it prompting you to dive in again and again. The more complete job you do the more apparent future neglect is going to be. Don't ask how I know this :nomore:

Enough computin', time to dig out a bike and go for a ride Im the MAN

I would use the XMT #3 & XMT #1 for correcting the paint surface. Once the paint surface has been corrected apply the Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze let it sit on the paint for about 45 minutes and buff it off with a clean Microfiber Towel. Once the High Gloss Sealant Glaze fully cures than apply the Collinite 845. Since this is a gift for your sister-in-law and she doesn't take care of her car next time you want to give her a gift just use the XMT 360 and save your self some time. She will appreciate all of your hard work making her car look new again.

Thanks for input guys. She dropped the car off at 9:00 and called back wanting to know if she could have it by 5:00. Women aren’t patient for anything.  The car has many Rids and scratches all over. It is a daily driver so I decided not to go crazy. I used XMT2 only one the worst areas and then finished it up with XMT1over the car. I used KAIO and then toped it with NXT2.0. I will try and post some pics later. :buffing:

Pretty good pics and results from what I can see. What process did you decide on?

That looks great! Its nice to see it in like new condition since most of the 9-3ss cars I see are beat on and dirty. My first time correcting my black Saab involved XMT #3, #1, and XMT finishing glaze... Not sure if you used this combination on the car, just saw it mentioned earlier as a possibility.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Its a daily driver so I didn't go crazy. There are still some Rid and other imperfections. I told here they would have to wait untill spring when I could have the car for the 8hrs she gave me to work on it.

My Final Process.
1. Wash w/2 Bucket Method.
2. Mother Clay Bar
3. XMT#2 on the Hood and Trunk using LLC Orange Pad.
4. XMT #1 on the entire Car w/ LLC White Pad.
5. KAIO w/ White LLC
6. Meg XMT 2.0 by Hand on the Paint & K. SG on the Grey Plastic Trim and Headlights.
7. Simple Vacum interior and Leather Conditioner on the seats.
