First Autogeek Detailing Classes Ready to GO!

Here's a few pictures for our first classes here at Autogeek's Show Car Garage!

October 3rd, 2009 Detailing 101

The emphasis of the Detailing 101 class is to learn the basics of what I call the 3 P's

Paint
Products
Procedures

We'll learn to use our hands and the dual action polisher to remove swirls and scratches, then polish the paint to perfection and then seal the paint with a wax or paint sealant.

While lots of people want to jump right to the Advanced Class, it's important to have the above basic skills under your belt first. Besides, you can't always fix everything by machine, so hand techniques are important too.

October 4th, 2009 Detailing 102 - Advanced Class

The emphasis here will be to build on what you learn in our Detailing 101 class by learning how to wet-sand by hand and machine and then how to successfully remove your sanding marks using a rotary buffer and then polish the paint to perfection using a dual action polisher.

These classes are always so much fun not only do you get to learn a lot of tips and techniques for polishing paint but you always get to meet great new people.

If you couldn't make it to either of these classes, be sure to clear your schedule for 2010

Mike, are you only going to show how to use only one product line since AG sells several others.

Great question Dana!

To start with (this is our first class), Max is going to have me work in my area of strength.

There's plenty of time into the future for everything else and more!

Can't type much, I'm helping Dwayne celebrate his birthday and typing from my iPhone.

Later!

Thanks for the answer. So when you learn the other products, people in this class, will they be able to come back to the 102 class for free so they can see how the other products AG sells work?

Dana,

Love your passion and concern for others!

What were teaching here is "correct technique". Our goal is to bring up everyone's comfort level with the different types of products and procedures, not make everyone an expert after one class.

A real Pro can make any system that works... work. My personal goal is the same as its always been and that's to help others be successful when they go out into there garage and work on their own car. Kind of simple, but that's what I've been doing since 1988 and so far it's been very rewarding on many different levels.

I hear what you are saying but the technique is going to be different between diminishing and non-diminishing polishes. You are not dealing with real pros, mostly people doing their own cars, so that is why I was wondering why there was only one line when AG sells different types of polishes that should be addressed.
