View Full Version : need help heavy wax and sea salt contamination

a vw dealership call me to see some cars that they just arrive from port and they have a heavy contamination of factory wax with sea salt i tried megs BS
and wurth solvent and nothing happend so i decided to wet sand one of them
after that it was perfect but they ask me to place the car into the paintbooth for 30 min at 90° and some panels shows some contamination still
any advose on what product to used instead of wet sanding them :confused:

have you tried that cosmoline remover that alot of dealers use to remove these protective waxes ??? Its quite strong, but must be left to sit for several minutes like a wallpaper remover.

there is a coating that hardens and becomes impervious to dirt, bugs, and other contaminents. GM and Ford use it .... and you need to remove it once car is delivered. Not sure if it would help , but your not getting me to wetsand a dozen new cars.

Thanks Scott i will tried, i need to find something that really works since they order to repaint them if nobady can clean them up
they have 35 cars in each dealership total of 70 cars
