2007 Cadillac DTS 48,XXX miles...my sisters car :D

She bought the car used so the neglect in the paint is not all from her. She only wanted the interior cleaned but since I had the car all weekend I thought I'd be a nice guy and 2-step the exterior...baaaad idea!

This car has had several panels repainted, and they did not appear to all be done to the same time, based on paint texture. She also has an unlimited wash package at a locus full service wash, which she uses at least once a week. She has never waxed the car before but after washing it there was evidence of some sort of protection....whatever it was it made buffing a PITA (some rainX crap she said the offer with the upgraded wash)! The car was also covered in fine black over spray, and the roof had some larger gray specs too.

Please keep in mind I was only getting paid to do the interior on this one so some of the extra things I do on a full detail may have been skipped ;)

Process was as follows...

Wash - Megs Gold Class 2BM
Tires - ARO and Megs Hyper Dressing
Wheels - Separate wash mitt and bucket, Mothers chrome
Wheel wells - APC+ and Megs Hyper Dressing
Tar - Tarminator
Clay - Megs clay and Last Touch as lube followed by 2 IPA wipe downs
Correction - M105/Flex 3401/Orange LC Classic, followed by Menz 106ff,rotary,W9207 pad followed with another wash
LSP - Blackf1re Wet-Diamond x2

Carpets - LGM with Folex solution
Vinyl and dash - 1Z Premium Cockpit Cleaner
Leather - Zaino Z9/Z10
Glass - Megs D120
Jambs - Wiped with Last Touch

One of the repainted panels had a texture that did not match the rest of the car and looked pretty bad, I gave it a quick wet sand to better match the factory finish. Megs 1500 followed by 3000.

I had a lot of issues buffing on this one for a few reasons...The repainted panels acted differently and paint was micro marring of some of them, My M105 seemed to have gone bad and had become very runny. I had lots of issues with it gumming up which could be a result of the M105, or whatever paint protection crap that was still on the paint from the local car wash.

(before anyone asks, I'm on my 3rd gallon of M105 and I know what the consistency is supposed to be like. This was the DA version and had about a half gallon left. It was fine two weeks ago)

Thanks for looking,
Rasky

LOL....I knew there would be a comment about the wheels! :D

FWIW, her b/f bought the wheels and while she likes the look of them, she wishes they were smaller...20's would have been better.

Thank you!

The white car in the garage is the 2nd of two '63 Austin Healey's I'm working on. The first one is done and I have a thread posted for the work on it if you wish to check it out.

The white one is actually going to be getting a full restoration. I should be starting on the body work with my old man when I get back from vacation on the 18th. :props:

That's what I was thinking. Could she tell a difference between your AMAZING WORK and the local car wash? I sure hope so, 'cause you did great.

Actually the 106 worked great. I tried M205 first but it was still leaving light marring with the Flex on some of the panels.

Hahaha. I noticed the hoop when I was talking with the sis and I'm like that would make for a good shot. :D

Thank you!

Thanks Meghan! She was very happy I did the exterior too and had an ear to ear smile when she walked up. She wanted it done but it just wasn't in her budget right now....even with the sister discount. ;)

LOL. She definitely knows the difference, and she'd have me wash it all the time if she lived closer and I actually had the time. I used to manage the car wash she goes too back in '98 and it's one of the better ones around I guess.....at least it was. :D

I'm going to set her up with some wash media and take her down to the coin opp and show her how to do everythign herself. :props:
