I just use APC+ BTW: Aztec recommends only filling the machine with water.

For anyone reading this that is unsure as to what a "Hot Rod" is, it's a hot water extractor for spot removing stains and cleaning entire sections fabrics and cloth materials, like a seat or carpet.

Aztec Hot Rod Hot Water Extractor (http://www.autogeek.net/aztec-hot-water-extractor.html)
http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/autogeek/aztec-300.jpg

Chris is right, Aztec only recommends filling the solution tank with warm water and then pre-treat the carpet with a quality carpet cleaner and stain remover.

Since it's coming with the Detailer's Pride Pre-Treat (http://www.autogeek.net/carpet-extractor-pre-treatment.html) might as well start with using this product.

DP Carpet Extractor Pre-Treatment is a non-foaming formula that emulsifies carpet and upholstery stains and then encapsulates soil for easy removal. This non-sticky, pH-balanced formula does not leave a residue on carpet or upholstery, is completely biodegradable and no dilution is required.

Use DP Carpet Extractor Pre-Treatment on spots, stains, and high traffic areas prior to cleaning your carpet and upholstery by hand with a carpet brush and vacuum or with a hot water carpet extractor.

Breaks up grease, oil and food stains
Safe on carpet and upholstery
Non-foaming & biodegradable
Concentrated formula, no dilution required

Directions for use with a carpet extractor:

First, vacuum carpet and upholstery to remove loose dirt and debris.
Then spray DP Extractor Pre-Treatment directly onto the stain. Allow 3-5 minutes for DP Extractor Pre-Treatment to penetrate the fibers while protein enzymes emulsify and encapsulate the stain.
Agitate with a carpet brush and then use a hot water extractor to rinse the fibers and extract the soil and the pretreatment. Use overlapping passes to extract all dirt.
Heavily soiled areas may require a second treatment.

Fill the solution tank with warm water and connect the solution hose.

When the indicator light goes off, the Aztec is ready.

Pre-treat with a carpet cleaner. Press the trigger to release hot water.

Go back and forth over the stain until it disappears.

Carpet and upholstery will look like new!

You too can get results like this with your own hot water carpet extractor!

I'm about to do the interior of a 2004 Lexus LS 430 right now. Since it's raining this week, I will only be doing the interior of the vehicle. My last step will be with the Aztec Hot Rod. Of course, I will be taking some before/after pictures. :dblthumb2:

Okay...... I now have a question. Is the Aztec "suppose" to remove everything on the carpet & floor mats? I have posted the pics on the show N shine form. Here is the link to it:

Here are the pictures that I'm worried about:

I thought the carpets would be cleaner than this? I went over each of these carpets more than three times and they still did not come out looking outstanding?

Maybe scrub in some cleaner with the pc and then try it. Our water extractor is nice, but some jobs still take some power scrubbing to release the dirt well enough.

Its a hard question to answer. I've seen the Aztec pull out stains I thought it wouldn't be able to. However, other times it has reduced the appearance of stains, but not completely gotten rid of them. Sorry its not a simple yes or no question. I can only tell you if its not coming out with the Aztec then its probably not coming out haha.

Ugh. lol Thanks for that reminder Ryan. I forgot about that since I got the Flex. I put the PC back into its box. I will bring that Lexus back over here tomorrow and use the PC to see what it will take out on those two front floor mats. :xyxthumbs:

Steve,

The suction was fine (that sounded bad. lol). As for the lines on the carpet. I did not feel like doing that. I beleve that is just a personal preference.

My $.02

Some stains maybe permanently set.

I'm wearing a pair of fairly new jeans that I somehow got some black #2 Permatex form a gasket material on and even though I pre-treated them and scrubbed then before washing them the spot is still there.

If after all the work you did didn't remove all the stains 100% then it's likely more and more work isn't going to get what's left out no matter what chemical you use or what extractor you use.

Well, here is my 2nd attempt using the PC. SOME of it came out. People down here have never taken care of their vehicles. They usually go to any of the car washes, two of them are auto-mated. They never change the water, soaps or mitts. You know the game. I''m slowly getting to them and they now pay attention and contact me for thier needs. :dblthumb2:
