Copied and pasted this from some of the automotive forums I am on. This thing is a nightmare of a detail project to bring it back to good condition!

95 Blazer LS 4x4 Top Package 150,000 miles on it.

Well picked it up none running for a okay price. Already spent a good bit on it and still finding more and more things wrong with it. So today I checked everything to start making a list of what I am going to tackle. Spent a grand total of 2 hours JUST washing and I do mean just washing. This thing doesnt look like it was ever taken care of. From the owner prior to the person I got it from. The owners kid had it, and doesnt look like he was all that smart. Tons of ghetto rigged half ass fixes through out the truck. Dents and dings EVERYWHERE! interior carpets are horrible. so pictures of what I am up to so far.

Washed heavily into the wheel wells, under the hood, and under the truck as far was i could go. The door jams...where bad, I think something lived in them at one point.

The interior left much to be desired. Oil and HEAVY mud stains everywhere. Got a good bit of the mud stains out and the oil I could only lighten up some. Need to really invest into a Heat Extractor, but there kinda expensive.

Well after relentless cleaning, tons and tons of mudd and grime I finally finished. Once under the hood was dry, I dressed it and boy what a difference!

Anyways up on the list for stuff to fix next...going to wait before I do "aftermarket" style things to it.... until after I get alot of the small things fixed. Already removed the pin stripes. And the gay chrome fender well covers, and about 6 stickers on the back.

Before I do a full fledge detail on this thing, which just after cleaning it brought ALOT of shine back to it. A few panels need wet sanding, and buff the whole thing. But before, all the plastic chrome pieces along the trim, all the clear is peeling on ALL of them. Going to strip the rest of the clean off them, and paint the plastic pieces make them look better. Alot of the painted roof rack pieces are peeling going to scuff them up a good bit and paint them as well. Then follow that up with a full detail.

Probably at the same time as I replace the pass. front headlight, going to scuff up the chrome grill piece and paint it. Was planning on swapping it to the 98+ blazer/s10 style front grill, but just going to deal with what I have.
Then from there....one weekend, I cut the exhaust off at the nearest hanger I can find, and put on a muffler/turn down. Then a nice K&N intake...after that...dont know!

Good start on the turnaround. The Blazer/S10/Sonoma platform has tons of options/parts/communities to help you with personalizing/improving the truck. The good news is that parts are plentiful ( as close as the nearest "pick and pull"salvage yard), the engine/tranny are powerful and reliable if kept up, and I like this style. The bad news is that it has typical GM interior rattles, press pins for the door hinges (replace when the door squeaks before the door has a chance to wobble in the hinges) Again rather inexpensive to replace, but makes a big difference. My original S10(92 extended cab) has well over 200k, my 2001 Sonoma (115K) all in all are reliable trucks.

Yeah thats the good thing. Funny you should mention the door panel tabs, 3 of the 4 door panels all the bottom tabs are broken. So going to pull them off see what the tab styles look like and see if there is a way to get the panel to stay to the door without having to buy a new one.

Just a bit of sarcasm on my part. Those stain are problaley in the insulated and when you wet them, they just come out again there's no way to get that out with out removing the carpet & pad try carpet powder that elimates orders permantly just scrub in and vac up.

I knew it was sarcasm. Just agreeing with you. Stains like that once they set in there is basically no hope. Luckly one of the guys in my car club owns a Carpet cleaning business. So going to swing by his house try some of his stronger cleaning chemicals and a extractor and see if we cant lift them up a bit more!

You can try hydrogen proxcide. Most carpet guys us a stong con. than you get at the drug store . dampen area spray some proxcide then soak with water and vac up if you dont get enough water it will turn the carpet white.I have never try but a carpet told about when I had a grape stain in carpet.I dye it instead. BTW I Just notice you remove the insulation from hood becareful that deflect the heat away from you hood if burn that paint out from inside out. lol

Yeah I have heard that plenty of times, but that is only true for large high performance motors. Plus the fire blanket you can tell in the pics with it still there that there wasnt exactly much left of it! lol
