Detailing Class - Frequently Asked Questions (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/rough-draft/20410-detailing-class-frequently-asked-questions.html)

What time do the Saturday and Sunday classes start?

Classes start at 7:30am
Donuts and coffee are served starting at 7:30am
From 7:00am to 7:30 you have time to,
Arrive
Park your car
Stretch your legs
Use the powder room
Meet and greet fellow forum members
Check out the rides
Check out our training facilities
And enjoy some hot coffee and fresh donuts

Please respect everyone’s time and arrive at 7:30am and have some fun, maybe do some networking before the class starts.

What time does the class end?
The class officially ends each day at 5:30pm.

Can I work on my own car?
For both classes we will have a rental car to practice on in most cases. We’ll do our best to have a black, swirled-out rental car. At the end of the class on both Saturday and Sunday, (after 3:00pm), if there’s time and room then the Instructor is usually very willing to let people work on their car, we just have to play it by ear. Our Thursday night "Open Garage" classes are dedicated for working on your own car, not the Saturday classes primarily due to time constraints.

Can I buy products at the class?
You can place your order and redeem your store credit. On Saturday, if time allows for staff to pull orders then you can get your product that day, if not your order will be shipped first thing Monday morning.

Will I get a refund if I cancel at least 24 hours before the class date?
If you notify us within 24 hours of the class you will get a refund.

Will I get a refund if I don’t show up?
If you notify us within 24 hours of the class you will get a refund.

Can I come late?
No. If you can’t make the class on time it’s really better to pick a date when your schedule is clear and attend on that date.

Can I leave early?
Yes, but it’s better if you clear your schedule and attend on a date where you can attend the entire class.

Can I skip the Saturday class since I’m already a world famous Detailer?
No.

Will I get a certificate?
Yes.

Do I need to bring a lunch?
If you have any special nutrition requirements or specific preferences then you are encouraged to bring your own lunch. We will provide cold soda pop, water and pizza.

Do I need to bring my own chemicals?
No. We will provide all tools and chemicals

Can I take pictures?
Yes.

Can I take videos?
No. Violators will be put to death live on the Internet and all their earthy belongings sold on eBay.

Can I bring a friend?
If they register and pay for the class.

Need help getting signed up for the next class? Simply call,

1-800-869-3011

And our friendly customer care staff will help you and make it easy.

For each class I created a sign-up thread to announce each next class.

In these threads I tend to post a LOT of pictures of the people who attended the previously class in action. I also post their first-hand testimonies.

Anyone interested in attending a class this year, click the link below and look at the pictures and read what others have to say...

Are any tools included?

Why yes, of course...

From the registration page here (http://www.autogeek.net/detailing-boot-camp.html)

Tools, tools....and more tools!

Mike Phillips has a saying: "If it has paint, it gets polished!" Polishing by hand simply isn't effective (who wants to do it anyway?) with modern clear coat finishes, which is why we instruct our students to work by machine! When you finish Detailing Boot Camp, you'll be well versed with every dual action and rotary polisher available, including but not limited to:

Flex PE8 Kompact Precision Rotary Polisher <--NEW
FLEX XC3401 Forced Rotation Dual Action Polisher
FLEX PE14-2-150 Rotary Polisher
Rupes LHR 15ES Random Orbital Polisher
Rupes LHR 21ES Random Orbital Polisher
Rupes LHR 12E Duetto Random Orbital Polisher - ALL NEW
Rupes LHR 75E Mini 3 Inch Polisher - ALL NEW
Porter Cable 7424xp
Griot's Garage 6 Inch Random Orbital Polisher
Meguiars G110v2 Dual Action Polisher
DeWalt DWP 849X Rotary Polisher
Makita 9227C
....and a whole lot more!

While machine polishing is a huge part of the Detailing Boot Camp, Mike Phillips also covers topics such as:

Steam cleaning (Dupray Hill Injection Steam Cleaner (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/ask-expert-featuring-mike-phillips/82576-how-use-dupray-hill-injection-steam-cleaner.html))
Carpet extractors (Mytee)
Convertible top care
Proper washing & drying
Machine applying a paste wax, liquid wax and cleaner/wax
Paint, wheel, and glass coatings
Leather cleaning & conditioning
Foam Guns
Iron X
Nanoskin Autoscrub Pads, Towels Mitts
Glass polishing

Plus if you click the link below you'll see more pictures of people and what you get to do at our classes than any other class anywhere in the world.

Sign-up: May 2014 Detailing Boot Camp Class - Saturday May 3rd & Sunday May 4th (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/sign-up-detailing-bootcamp-class-2-day-class/75549-sign-up-may-2014-detailing-boot-camp-class-saturday-may-3rd-sunday-may-4th.html)

And more first hand testimonies from people that have attended our classes than you'll find anywhere else on the net...

Testimonies for Autogeek's Detailing Boot Camp Classes (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/sign-up-detailing-bootcamp-class-2-day-class/78218-testimonies-autogeek-s-detailing-boot-camp-classes.html)

And these testimonies are just a portion of what's on the forum that I've taken the time to assemble in one place.

Our classes are held the SAME time every year...

Are any tools included?

Here's some pictures I posted of the classroom being set up for a past class.

The products and pads tend to change as we add a lot of the newest pads and products to the class as they are introduced to the market but the BIG IDEA is you get to use a LOT of tools, pads, and products...

The week before the class I always send each person attending a personal e-mail and in the e-mail I strongly recommend everyone get a good nights sleep on Friday so they are well rested and ready to go on Saturday.

I never have to worry about telling people to get a good night's sleep on Saturday because I already know they are going to sleep good after the first day in class.

It would probably take me a week to assemble a thread showing all the cool cars that have been used for past classes but here's an example from just the last class in May...

I just emailed this link to my wife to see if she wanted to head to Florida in September. We have stayed in Nokomis beach over on the other side for Thanksgiving, if I can work it out, I think it would be great to spend a couple days doing the class and then a little down time.

I'd love to meet you and having you attend the class would be great.

Here's the cars I have so far... nothing's in concrete but pretty close to solid.

1965 Plymouth Belevedare II - Black Basecoat/Clearcoat and probably the worst swirls and scratches I've EVER seen in a paint finish. We're talking washed with a wire brush.

1941 Buick Convertible Streetrod - Light swirls and needs to be clayed. Also has a leather interior and a cloth top and we'll be treating everything.

1939 LaSalle Wetsanding Project (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/wet-sanding-cutting-buffing/81118-wet-sanding-project-1939-lasalle-streetrod.html) - Owner wants/needs it sanded sooner, I'm trying to save it for the class.

Still working on a few more cars. I get dedicated cars for each type of tool...

Rupes Polishers
Flex 3401 Polishers
Porter Cable, Meguiar's and Griot's polishers
Cyclo polisher
Machine Sanding and Flex PE14 Rotary Buffers

I also get a ho-hum daily driver to teach production detailing on.

I've signed up for the first three day class in May. I'm looking forward to it. Mike Phillips said something to me that I want to see if it's true, if he's right I've got a plate of crow to eat.
