Any advice on gray matte grille

Does anybody have any information on cleaning and protecting the matte gray center section of my 1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer grille? I believe that it is plastic, as is the chrome portion of the grille. Thanks.

you can use a paint polish as needed or chemical cleaner like Pinnacle Lotion and then coat with a sealant.

Like KAIO? This finish seems very susceptible to etching or staining; i.e. there are currently water etchings. But the KAIO plus a sealer makes sense. Thanks!
