Griot 6" backing plates

Is the backing plate on the Griots polisher interchangeable like the PC--
like to use some smaller ones on it?

On our second generation machine, the backing plate is not detachable. It was designed that way to accomodate the intergrated exhaust fan and housing.

The new third generation machine has a detachable backing plate and the tool comes with it to make swapping on your backing plate of choice a breeze!

Thats good news. I have the second gen, very nice machine, great handle on it. Nice the 3rd gen plate can be swapped out.

As much as I still love my two second gen machines, the power and smoothness of the new one has finally got me! Plus if you like the handle on the second gen, you'll love the third gen because its movable!!!!!!
