I was set to do an interior/exterior detail on this GL450, but on arrival my customer stated I had 1 1/2 hours to do it!!! I said ok, without realizing how monstrous these cars are.

It was hammered... The interior was not the worst by far, but the car had not been washed in 3 months and still had salt from Vermont on it. Anyways, I got through it all right on 90 minutes which I was amazed at.

Process+Products:

-ONR wash
-Megs APC on the wheels
-XMT360
-Collinite 915
-PB's Wheel Sealant
-Megs Endurance shine
-Flitz metal polish on the exhaust
-303 Protectant (all plastics)
-Woolite+water 1:3 (interior)
-Lexol leather conditioner
-Bissel Green thing
-Resolve stain remover
-Megs UQD (windows and wood trim)

Anyways, here are the befores:

Ive never done any car in that short a time, until today. I have been working on trying to group certain tasks together to reduce time, so I was literally running around the car to get it done haha. I was lucky the layer of collinite was cured.

And I know what you mean on our cars, I consider an hour just a little spruce up (if its not dirty) haha. Oh well, it was an interesting experience!

I wanted to ask him how many people were assisting him. lol Down here in the Rio Grande Valley, It takes a min. of an hour to wash a vehicle alone. The HUMIDITY will exhaust you. Just for me to wash, clay and buff a vehicle, it will take me a full day. That is with the vehicle under a carport and a high speed fan blowing right at me and the vehicle. I have to fight nats and mosquitos down here.

Congtats on you being able to detail a vehicle in 90 minutes.

90 minutes.......

Lets see.....what do I accomplish in 90 minutes.

Open garage, get out pressure washer, water cleaning filters, hoses, micro fibers, ONR, buckets.

Go back in the house for a beer.

Come back outside and attach all hoses, fill buckets, pour I cap of ONR into bucket and swish mixture around, spray hose into bucket to make foam.

Wash car, unhook hose from spray nozzle, hook to water filters and pressure washer. Rinse car. Dry car.

Oh wait, that's at least three hours already. And two more beers.

It takes me longer then that to get my equipment together before I start. Are you taking speed or somethinghttp://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/images/icons/icon12.gif

That's how long it takes me to wash and dry a vehicle completely (with leaf blower)... includes all rims, etc... full detailed wash. 90 minutes for all that YOU did? wow...

Thanks haha, the NE had a pretty nice summer so it wasn't too bad. I was sweating buckets though since I was running around trying to get everything done. Never again.

I was happy enough with the results, but the lady who owns it was thrilled so it was worth it.

Hahaha, drinking on the job eh? I had a head start since I just did a 997 turbo and this was right after so all the washing, drying, and interior stuff was out and ready!

It was actually fairly easy given how dirty it was. The interior was horrible, but had all weather mats which really sped things up alot. Other than that, my one motivating factor to get moving was the $$$!
