I use Plexus on good clean and new headlamps and taillamps. For ones that have dulled, yellowed and gone by the wayside, Wolfgang offers a kit to polish and protect them. It works well. The other choice ... pickup some new lights off Ebay and then keep them up going forward.

I talked to a guy at Ford several moons ago, and was told that they had the worst light issues (early 80's) because GM somehow patented using Lexan specifically with their lights. Dont know if thats hogwash, but what I do know is that UV can severly damage these exposed lights over time. Properly protecting them (new or old) seems like the only insurance in even having a reasonable set 5-10 years down the line. I do also hope over the past 20 years, someone has figured out how to add some protection in the actual plastic housing.

Meguiar's PlasX or Plexus are both great products. Some people prefer using sandpaper, moving up from 500grit to 2000grit.

Like Wytstang, I tried to make the scratched and yellowed headlights better and I gave up and bought an after market pair. Smoked lens with a brighter bulb, but they still don't seem as bright at night:(

However, they sure look good in daylight!

I've been using 3Ms duo, cleaner and polish, works well with a spot buff and a drill.

Not to worried bout the headliglts, they always look better with a new set of eyeballs, its the taillights, sidemakers, headlight covers and bugheilds thats badly ox'd.I odered Grand 1 just b/c I wanted to try something different from Zaino, its ok but.

I think the kit listed above is what I may be looking for, something that makes it look like new or almost like new.
