Whats up guys. Just rented a Rug Doctor to finally get my cars clean clean clean. My wifes 528i has been burning/leaking oil since we got it and got real bad a few months ago. A couple grand in guessing which part/gasket it was, I hope I'm finally finished. So, I thought this would be a perfect time to finally tear apart the car and give it my OCD level of cleaning.

However, after an hour struggling with getting out the drivers seat, I decided I'd do a step down and not take out the passenger seat. I have a bad back and cleaning the carpet, floor mats, bending odd ways to take out this seat, etc...it got to me. But, a few Bud Lights later...I'm feelin alriiiiiight. So, here's the photos...

On a side note, what would all the professionals think about buying a Rug Doctor? Everytime I do this, I get a ton of people asking me to do theirs. However, after the renting costs, cleaning products, etc...I don't see myself making any money. I'm not willing to throw a grand down for a Mytee or something similar...but $5-700 for a Rug Doctor doesn't seem that bad. I do like how I could still clean the carpets in my house with it as well. I bet I could "rent" it out to a few of my friends no problem.

What do you guys think? Worth it...or is there something better?

Is this the big cube Rog Doctor like the rental units at grocery stores?
If it is Costco is selling the identical type for $359.95

Costco - Rug Doctor Mighty Pro Carpet Cleaner (http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11382448&whse=BC&topnav=&browse=&lang=en-US)

That price may only be good at the store as a cash & carry price. On the web site it is $474.95

O RLY? I need to get a Costco membership. Everyone is always telling me of deals there. I saw the price tag above at Kohls I think. I'm trying to find a better alternative as I know I'd be paying for the name.

Thanks for the hint though, definately helps the argument with the wife!

An alternative would be a Bissell Little Green Machine, I have the Little Green ProHeat Turbo and it costed me about $104 + tax I believe. I'm sure that it doesn't work as well as a Rug Doctor, but it's much cheaper, and works better than any shop vac out there.
