Researching the possibility of going mobile as my customers would like their cars detailed at their place of work, and this would save me the hastle of driving back and forth to my house. That got old quick.

I don't like the looks of the cargo van, even with decent graphics/logos. And am afraid of having my generator/power washer/supplies out in the open if I used a pickup.

That leaves me with an SUV. Preferably a Tahoe. Would a pillow water tank work? I'd probably still need a pump, but wouldn't this suffice? It would fit into the back of my suv along w/ my other gear. Plus it's enclosed so that helps.

Anyone else thought/use this setup? Any opinions welcomed.

Maybe you should buy a trailer

Yeah I would go the trailer route.

I would also suggest purchasing a trailer. For the past two years I've been working from the bed, and back seat, of my Crew Cab Frontier. Everytime I needed to use the bed or back seat I would have to remove all of my gear and supplies.

This past month I purchased an 5x7 Haulmark. While it is quite small, it suffices just fine and has made everything much easier. All of my things are out of the elements and I only have to tow the trailer when I'm actually working. I'd suggest taking a look on craigslist to see what is available in your area.

I've thought of the trailer and the only problem is we will be moving to an apartment complex and no garage. Finding extra parking or a space will be tough.

Thanks for the replys.

I wouldn't give up on the idea. Certain storage units have decent pricing for storing smaller trailers. It's a pain to have to go there to pick it up in the morning but isn't that what owning a business is all about, hard work?

I started my mobile Detailing Biz,7 years ago. I work out of the back of my 2002 Cadillac EXT,135k on the odometer. I carry everything in the back. Fully enclosed and secure. Maybe consider a Denali,Avalanche,or Silverado, with Tounea cover.(I know I mispelled this one) do good to say it! Good Luck and do your homework! PM me if you have any questions,I'll try to answer if I can!

Showroom Shine, thank you for the response. I might have to drop you a PM once I get rollin'.

To me having it secure is the most important. ALSO, I'll be putting on vinyl graphics and I think it will show better on a Tahoe or Avalanche.

Thanks again to everyone for the responses. Helps a ton!
