Howdy! I've been searching through the fourms and reading up on the site for info. I'd like to get some feedback on the direction I am looking to go.

As a household, we have two vehicles: an '09 united grey metallic VW and an '08 blackberry pearl honda. Both are kept outside and I typically hand wash each vehicle every other week or so....cept for my GTI which is only a week old and hasn't been washed yet with the rain. The paint on both cars is in very good condition.

My current goal is to get products that:
-will provide a durable, highly attractive shine on both cars with good proctection for outdoor storage/exposure.
-resonalby priced for the whole shebang (100-150 bucks)...the lower the better ;) and pref not totally different products for each car/color
-pref hand application for now and I'd like to keep the steps/products to a max weekend day's worth of work per car.

What I'm thinking about:
1) Pinnacle clay bar kit
Pinnacle’s Ultra Poly Clay is the single finest clay composition available today. (http://autogeek.net/piulpoclkit.html)

2) My questions....is Klasse my best bet for the combo of outisde durability and appearance w/ minimal steps and less frequent re-application or would something like the 4 star system be a better fit? or another recommendation all together?

TIA

If you want Klasse you might as well get the Jeff Werkstatt Acrylic line, it is the updated Klasse formula. It's easier to use, looks better, and more durable.

I would go with Klasse especially since it is outside so much, you can even layer it for added protection.

If you do get Werkstatt I would recommend the Acrylic Jett over the Acrylic Jett trigger, seems to be a little more durable, Trigger is a bit faster to apply though. Klasse is the old stuff, but still a nice product.

May I suggest that you consider the Duragloss sealants, specifically, DG 105 (http://www.autogeek.net/duragloss-total-performance-polish.html). Economical, durable, and looks good. Maintain it with DG 951 Aquawax (http://www.autogeek.net/duragloss-aquawax--951.html).

I like the Klasse twins or you can use the A.I.O. and top with 4* UPP or Wolfgangs 3.0 sealant.

+1 for Klasse twins.

Clay, Klasse, topcoat wax and you'll be good to go, try P21s.

Thanks again...I've ordered up some goodies and I'm sure that this is just going to be the tip of the iceberg down the detailing enthusiast path :)

Seems like most hobbies are these days

So far I've kept my first supply orders well with-in my 100 buck limit. I've got half my stuff here now and I'm itching to go.

I just wish there was another REUNION that I could attend. I have to wait for almost another year. :(

Gave the car a once over today so I thought I'd throw up a couple pics as thanks.

Right before I applied the tire dressing and 15 minutes before it started raining :(

Nicely reflective, good gloss and nice depth to the fine metallic paint close up.

Werkstat Prime/Jett

Though, I picked up a bunch of supplies from AG including the Pinnacle ultra poly clay, which I'm going to be using on my girlfriend's Honda next weekend.
