I received this product from AG for a review on some of their new Griots line.

Product: Griots Wheel Cleaner

Description: Griot's Garage Wheel Cleaner cleans wheels safely and effectively with a concentrated, biodegradable formula. BBS, the manufacturer of wheels for Ferrari, Porsche, and Lotus, approves Griot's Garage Wheel Cleaner for the cleaning of their high end wheels. Use Griot's Garage Wheel Cleaner on all types of wheels.

Cost: $9.99 for 35 oz (Comes with chemical resistant sprayer.

Directions: Spray onto wheel. Wait one minute and agitate with brush or mitt.

I am pretty anal about my wheels and usually have them protected with either Poorboys Wheel Sealant or Zaino CS. Therefore, my wheels don't get very dirty and I usually only clean them with soap and water.

Griots wheel cleaner appears to be very mild and even has a sticker on the bottle saying it is approved by BBS wheels. If you are looking for a harsh wheel cleaner this is not it.

This is the perfect wheel cleaner for those with aftermarket wheels and those that require a very mild and safe wheel cleaner.

Spraying onto the wheel. Foams nicely. Smells great with no acidic smell.

End result...All clean :)

Bottom Line: This is a very safe and effective wheel cleaner. It will require agitation on any wheel that you use it on. I can see this having a nice place in my detailing arsenal when I do have some grimey wheels that will need more than soap and water for a cleaning. If you are looking for a harsh wheel cleaner to remove caked on brake dust this is not it.

Overall impressions: A nice and safe wheel cleaner. Hope you enjoyed :D

The only other wheel cleaner I would use besides P21S. It is endorsed by a rather nice list of wheel manufacturers also.

I've used it and like it a lot. It cleans pretty well. Honestly, before it I've been cleaning my wheels with dish soap or car wash soap, last after I do the rest of the car, so as not to contaminate the wash water, and not to need to fill another bucket with soapy water.

Great review! I've used P21s and loved it....well, except for the price. I'll definitley give the Griot's a try next time. We all know how easy it is to find a super harsh wheel cleaner. Finding a gentle yet effective wheel cleaner on the other hand is a little tougher. Griot's looks to fit and that's a great price too!
