While washing my car today, i noticed that on the top of the passenger door, from the molding to about 3" below it, these spots were there. I am not sure if they are waterspots, but they really don't look like it. It looked like they were under the clear coat or it was the clear coat thinning and the paint underneath was coming through. The picture doesn't really show how it looked. I was thinking of trying some quick AIO on it to see if it took them away slightly, but I am reluctant to polish it if the clear is getting thin. The car has only had 2 passes of SIP with orange pads on it since i've owned it (about a year), but it is a 2001. Let me know what you think:

The picture only shows it in the upper corner, but it goes across the whole picture even though you can't see it

It looks like hard water spots, probably caused by driving by a lawn sprinkler. I think you should try polishing that area out with a final polish and white pad.

I am going to say water spots too, test a spot with AIO first should take care of it.
