Question to the Masters:

What purpose does it serve to quick detail a car with ice water after waxing it? Is this the same thing as "spit polishing"? No laughing please, remember I'm an amateur.

in the old days after waxing they use to rinse car with cold water. claim is it causes a very hard protection by causeing the wax molecule to close up faster than they would naturally

SMQding with ice water is not spit shinning. The idea behind using ice water is to dissolve the solvents in the wax so it will not remove the previous layer. The ice water helps to harden the wax. Muti layers of wax is applied to achieve a mirror shine.
