Well its been a while since I've posted on these here forums -my life has been a little hectic the last few months, and most of my detailing stuff has found its temporary home in a storage unit. My now wife and I (just got married in Feb) sold our townhome late last year, and are in the process of having our new home built. We are also anxiously awaiting the arrival of our first child, a baby boy!! While we wait for baby Braydon to meet us for the first time (due June 9) daddy decided it was time to part with his 06 Colorado and get something a little more family-friendly. After much research and a little diligence, I ended up picking up a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu LTZ on Friday. The color is Black Granite Metallic, with ebony/brick leather interior. Pretty much fully loaded. The fit and finish is great, comfortable ride, quiet; just beautiful inside and out. Anyways, enough rambling...enjoy the pics!!

Here's a quick shot of my old truck -I'll miss her!

But, out with the old, and in with the new!

So far it hasn't seen much love, as most of my gear/products are in storage. But I did have some Optimum Wash, DP wheel gel, a few MF towels and some MaxWax, so she got at least cleaned up and a little protection on her after her ride from the dealer. Hopefully in the next month or so we will be moving so I can get my full arsenal back and get her looking her finest!

Nice ride. I like your interior choice.

Very nice. I really like the interior color combo. I like the Malibu a lot. Too bad it took GM this long to finally come out with something that will actually contend with the Camry/Accord instead of being just an "also ran"/rental car favorite.

Thanks! The colors inside and out are awesome, they match perfectly together. Hopefully the sun will shine once again around here so I can take some better pics-these just don't do the metallic justice at all.

Thanks for the kind words! I'm really happy with her so far. And I agree with Termigator -its about time GM shows that they can compete with the foreign market. I really thought this would be the time I switched loyalty (been a GM guy since my first new car purchase -2000 Firebird, 2002 Trailblazer, 2006 Colorado), but after test-driving the Accord and Camry, I just liked the Malibu better overall. The fit and finish of the Malibu is light-years ahead of what I expected -all gaps/seams are tight, interior is well-designed and very quiet, it has decent power (felt the Accord was more spritited, and couldn't honestly feel much difference compared to the Camry) and good fuel economy.

Very nice car! I've not sat in one yet but I've heard GM stepped up the interior quality quite a bit on these cars. Congrats!

I would definitely agree with that. IMO the interior is among the best if not the best in its class. They definitely shed the "cheap" feel with the new models. Its sad the reputation of GM is what it is today. Hopefully with some new direction/restructuring/whatever they can win people back one car at a time. This is a start...
