The Flex is a Dual Action polisher and costs nearly $300.00 while the the DW849 is a variable speed rotary polisher and is about $175.00. Most pros and detailing enthusiasts carry both "types" of polishers or similar units of different brands. Both have their place in the arsenals of weaponry depending upon the situation one might be faced with. IMHO it's better... to have both.

:iagree: A rotary requires a advanced skill level compared to the flex .A lot of members start out with a PC and move up to a flex and then the rotary.Only you know where you are at in that learning curve and what your individual needs are.

You are comparing apples to oranges. Now if you are comparing the LK603 or the light weight L3403 to the DW now it's apples to apples. Btw, if it's a rotary that you are considering, get a Makita. I know Asphalt Rocket will disagree! LOL!

Hahaha, you are correct, the Dewalt is a much better tool than a Makita.
