Hi everyone, I'm fairly new to the forums, but have been browsing around for some time now. I live in Vancouver Canada, and I am just about to purchase some products from autogeek, and want to combine all my purchases at once since I pay a price for shipping over here.

My main question:
what is the best way to wash your vehicle without causing swirl marks, and I am just interested in washing and drying, no waxing at this point, as I am still learning through the forums. Here is how I currently wash my vehicle:

First off I rinse the car, and afterwards proceed to wash the car with Meguiars Gold Class Shampoo and a sheepskin mitt. I wash the vehicle in sections starting from the top. I then rinse off the section and proceed to the next section, of course I am using the 2 bucket method. For my drying purposes I am using microfiber towels that I bought at Canadiantire, and after trying the cd scratching test the other day I refuse to use them again.

For the interior I am only using microfiber cloths dampened with water, as the car is is still new (09 Maxima) and there isn't much mess yet.

The second part of my questions is regarding products. I am just about ready to buy some products from autogeek but want to check with you guys to see if my list is sufficient. Here is the list:

Shampoo: DP Auto bath Shampoo (http://www.autogeek.net/dp300.html)
Windshield: Stoner Invisible Glass Trio (http://www.autogeek.net/stoner-invisible-glass-trio.html)
Tire Cleaner: P21s Gel Cleaner (http://www.autogeek.net/p2wheelclean.html)
Towel: Supreme Cobra Guzzler (http://www.autogeek.net/cobra-waffle-weave.html)

Thats as far as I got totalling $70 (roughly). I don't mind going up to $100 as the shipping discout gets cheaper. I woudn't mind some advice on wheel cleaner / Shine or some other essential products that I am missing out of the list.

Thanks for your time reading my post, hope I wasn't a bother.

Sincerely,

Adam P

Tire Shine, I like Pinnacle Blck Onyx. P21S is about as good as you are going to get, plus its safe. I personally like Poorboys Super Slick and Shine car wash, but that is an opinion, I have used the DP stuff and prefer the PBs.

Meguiar's Gold Class Shampoo does the trick for me. As far as shipping costs, you might want to try and bump up your purchases to $95, since they're running an Easter special just this weekend: 15% off plus free shipping. Maybe they won't do it for Canada, but I read the fine print and it said nothing about excluding folks from Canada.:righton:

Thanks for all your info guys. As far as washing and drying the car is there any way I can improve, to have a swirless wash every 2-3 weeks?

use a foam gun / leaf blower for better washing and drying. Or follow the two bucket rule for washing and use a detail spray and Guzzler for drying in straight lines.

As for missing products:

Trim -- Poorboys Trim Restorer
Wheel Cleaner --- P21S
Wheel Protectant --- Optimum (Matte) or Poorboys Bright/Bold (Gloss)
Detail Spray --- Optimum QDer and Gloss Spray - Ultima Detail Spray -Four Star Spray Wax
