Looking to do some more paint correction on my Rav4 this spring. I am leaning towards trying the new Megs M105 to get rid of the swirls and RIDS. I already own some OP and Menzerna Power Finish. Would either of these products be OK to clean up the marring from the 105 or would I have to purchase the 205 to do the job right. I was thinking 105 on yellow edge pad followed by the Menzerna or OP on a white edge pad. Also any opinions on the Klasse products?

If you use the yellow pad with 105, go back over it with a white pad, then follow up with a finishing polish and pad.

So your saying two rounds of 105, once with yellow and then the white followed by white pad with either polish I mentioned above.

He means you need to get a finishing polish and finishing pad.

Aren't OP and PowerFinish finishing polishes? The way I read Ashpalt Rockets reply he says my plan should work I just have to follow up the yellow pad/105 combo wth white pad/105 before going to one of the polishes that I already have.

Which optimum polish do you have? PF 203 is not a finishing polish. It does finish down pretty good, but I wouldn't finish with that on a black car.

Pat.You are correct 105 on yellow then follow with 105 on a white pad.Why not try the white pad first and see if that corrects the swlrls.Start with the least aggresive pad first.

I have the older formulation of Optimum Polish. The white bottle with the black label. It was the one available up until I noticed the newer style product a few weeks ago. So this would be a better option than the PF203??

What I am saying is that once you use the aggressive pad with 105, go to a lesser aggressive pad with 105 and this will reduce your aswirls and holograms and leave the finish to where all you will need to do is a finishing polish with a finishing pad. I use wool instead of the yellow pad but do this all the time but with a white kompressor pad. The white Kompressor pad and 105 are an awesome combo.

The only wool I own is the one that came with the Makita and a blue wool edge pad, are any of those acceptable for applying the 105?

You can try the edge wool pad. I would not use the Makita one.
