I've been searching around, maybe i've been using the wrong key word, but does anyone know if there is a different, smaller hook-loop attachment for the Makita 9227, i have i think 7 inch pads and they seem to be almost exactly the same size as the makita's attachment and i'm a little nervous about using them with the fear of inducing scratching... any body have any experience with these? thanks for the help.

You need to go to AG store, bring up buffers and pads. Any size backing plate and pads you want down to 4 inch is available.
