Hey, so Ive been a member for a while now but mostly just used this forum for product information, reviews and of course, the many beautiful show'n'shines on here.

This is my 1996 saab 900se that has about 31000 miles on it now. This detailing was done about a year ago, with not polishing in between.

The swirls, marring and other RIDs that are visible are the result of about 12 years of hand washing and drying with bath towels (courtesy of my dad). It was always in great shape but never close to perfect paint wise. So I decided to fix that, and started my foray into real detailing.

The products used:

PC 7424
CCS orange, white and grey
XMT 3
XMT 1
XMT Glaze (this stuff rocks)
Signature Series 2 wax (applied by hand)

I dont have any pictures of the rest of the car, and this was only paint correction so there also arent any other miscellaneous pictures, sorry!

Thanks for looking, that was my first polishing experience. I have since been detailing as a personal business, and have been using menzerna, p21s and a whole trunk load full of detailing supplies but its nice to see the roots of your work ;)

NICE...You have the right idea. Just take your time and things will come to you. Keep up the good work...If you ever need help real fast Just call on ASPHALT ROCKET...He is one of the big dogs in town and he always glad to help...Good luck and tell him Buddy sent you.

P.S. The XMT Glaze is the only Glaze I have ever used and I thought It was good. I liked it...Along with the XMT 360. Stick with what works for you in the beginning and then you can move up to the good stuff like Menzerna.

thanks buddy... I have heard alot of things about XMT being inferior to most fine polishes but honestly, I just made sure I broke down the polishes properly and took my time like you said(took roughly a week).
I was really happy with my first time. Now Im practicing jeweling on the same car with po87mc, and recently ordered a couple hundred dollars worth of new stuff from AG so Im excited!

i think people start with XMT, dont know what theyre doing, and by the time they figure it out, they have purchased menzerna... not to take away from menzerna, but XMT is great

I knew what I was doing, which is why I got the great results I did... However, I think there are better, not to bash XMT since it did do a good job like I said. I always like to wait and let the results speak for themselves.

I'm really glad that things worked out on your polish job. It looks great. I'm a big fan of the whole Pinnacle line as well as the XMT Products. :D

Wow that is very impressive for your first time polishing! Great job!! Its all about taking your time and making the best of each panel and you clearly did that ! Love to see what the car looks like totally finished if you get a chance sometime

Im going to perfect the paint with po87mc in a bit, should take my whole spring break :)

Then a layer of sealant

Then a layer of p21s 100% carnauba

This will be a WIN

Sounds like a winner to me. My spring break will also be dedicated to a full on detail. Here in Virginia we just recieved an entire FOOT of snow and my car is covered in salt, slush, and everything winter has to offer. When i do my sealant, i wake up really early in the morning, apply a thin layer, and then wait for about 12 hours, then apply a single coat of nauba and the results are unbelievable! I know yours will be as well!

Yep, I cannot wait! It'll take a while since I am going to make sure the paint is as close to perfect as possible. Thankfully, my cars in the garage while Im at school so I dont have to deal with salt thank god...
