Just a quick question, I was using SSR2.5 followed by SSR1 with my PC today and I noticed I was getting alot of dust ecspecially from SSR1......

My procedure:
1. I divided the my car hood into 6 sections, roughly 18" x18"... misted the pads with XMT conditioner prior to using on the first section and then again prior to the 4th section.
2. Used about a quarter size amount of polish on the pad.
3. I spread the polish out at speed 3, then turned up to 5, moving the PC slowly back and forth, up and down for about 5 mins like it shows in the videos.

Is this normal for PBs to throw out alot of dust, or did I use too much polish?

It doesn't sound as if you used too much polish. In my experience the SSR polishes dust quite a bit. But they work well, so I put up with it.

Maybe try misting the pad after each section.

It's true, SSR2.5 and SSR1 does dust quite a bit. But like Sevenrd says, it works so I deal with it...

Thanks for the replies everyone.....the polishes did do a good job on my swirl marks, I just wanted to see if I was doing something that caused all the dusting...:)

What is the best way to clean up the dusting before going to the LSP?

I rewash the car, or you can wipe with a 50/50 alcohol/water solution.

DUST ..... DUST

I have found that most polishes dust. Some more, some less. This is another reason why I wipe down (alcohol) or rewash the car prior to any protection. Some say adding a little Red Moose Glaze into the SSR's reduces the dust if you prefer to go that route.
