The Kompressor Foam Buffing Pads by Lake Country are made to hug your vehicle’s curves better than standard foam pads. The slotted pad face allows each Kompressor pad to conform to the shape of the body panel, thereby providing maximum surface contact. Each pad has a “sweet spot” that holds the polish on the pad longer and prolongs the pad life. Maximize your polishing efforts with Lake Country Kompressor Foam Buffing Pads!

Four Different Pads in the Kompressor line:

Purple Cutting 7 inch Foam Pad – Use the purple foam pad to apply compounds and heavy cut swirl removers. The purple foam removes oxidation, heavy swirls, and most scratches.

White Polishing 7 inch Foam Pad – The white foam is less dense than the purple. Use the white pad with polishes, light swirl removers, and prewax cleansers. The foam removes very light imperfections, including swirls and light oxidation.

Black Finessing 7 inch Foam Pad – The black foam pad is very soft. Use it for wax and paint sealant application. The black foam has no cutting ability. It does a great job of spreading an even coat of paint protection.

Red Finishing 7 inch Foam Pad – The red finessing foam pad is the softest Kompressor pad. The red foam can be used to apply glazes, liquid waxes and sealants. This pad is also ideal for jewelling the paint with an ultra fine polish following the use of a swirl remover.

Another tidbit of info, saw that some are calling them 7.5 or 6.5, I personally measured these and they are 7" exactly. This is important so you will know the 6" Lake Country Backing plate fits perfectly inside the back of the pad.

Indeed these are exactly 7"

These look interesting. I'd definitely buy a set if they had 5"-5.5" ones. Thanks for the info

I saw these for the first time today also, look very interesting and appealing, sounds like from the specs it should be a great concept, but will wait until 4" 5" 5.5 pads come out.......

Im deff want to try these out, the only thing that is holding my back is they look like a pain to clean. When the polish goes in between the grooves, seems like it wont be easy to get out. Whoever does a review on these could you please include how they are to clean. Thanks!!!

This is a short video of me working on a black Nissan GTR using (as of this date) soon to be released Lake Country (http://www.autopia.org/forum/autolink.php?id=877&script=showthread&forumid=16) pads called "Kompressor". These pads are designed to cut down on sling and also provide very smooth operation which is due to how the pad is able to flex (http://www.autopia.org/forum/autolink.php?id=870&script=showthread&forumid=16) and take on body panel contours.

This is accomplished by way of the pads face being cut or sliced in a unique manner which leaves the pads face with numerous "blades". These blades "compress" with the weight of the polisher and this allows the pad to more easily take on the shape of the area being polished. Another benefit is that because of the blades there is no sling whatsoever (provided correct product amount is used). In our testing these Kompressor pads also seem to have a better cutting ability than their same ppi counterparts.

These pads work well with orbitals also such as the Flex orbital and so far have proven to hold up through numerous cleaning using Lake Country's pad washer. Upon first inspection I figured these pads would get messed up easily by way of the "foam blades" being ripped up on edges and such and also perhaps be a potential risk at holding debris but both of those initial thoughts have proven to be false. These pads are very durable and do not hold debris within the foam blades.

I have used the pads with various products such as Menzerna (http://www.autopia.org/forum/autolink.php?id=417&script=showthread&forumid=16) FPII, IP, Meguiars (http://www.autopia.org/forum/autolink.php?id=989&script=showthread&forumid=16) 105, 205 and also Optimum Polish and as seen in this video Optimum's yet unreleased Finishing Polish.

The new Optimum Finishing Polish is, so far, a wonderful product and although Ron and I have limited use with this new beta version, what we have seen so far has been impressive. Long working times, finishes down excellent, easy wipe off and is orbital friendly. I am looking forward to more testing with the new Optimum Finishing Polish, these new Kompressor pads and also some even newer pads Lake Country is working on.

I believe that many of you will take to these new Kompressor pads and they will soon be your favorite pads to reach for. I know they are for me as of right now. They will soon be available.

As for this video - We had a Nissan GTR come into our shop for a ding removal on the driver side rear quarter panel. As Ron worked his magic on that I had a chance to speak with the GTRs owner and he expressed his displeasure with how the paint was looking (caused by what he believes to be careless workers at a car wash) so I inspected the paint with some lighting and went about cleaning and then polishing a small area to see how the paint would react.

Here is the short video:
