Product: Meguiars Hot Rims Chrome Polish

Price: 5.99

Rating: 9 out of 10

This product is great for providing some cleaning power against chrome that is dull and faded or if you simply want a brilliant shine. I used a supreme shine microfiber to apply the product and buffed until it was practically dry, then i flipped the towel and buffed it off and the results were amazing, i have chrome rear bumpers and a front chrome grill on my truck so it will serve its purpose. The reason i rated it 9 out of 10 instead of a perfect score is because you have to follow up with a wax for some sort of protection( especially in the winter)

comments, suggestions, and questions are all welcomed:D

what is the active ingredient in it ?? Sounds harsh like the use of acid or lye which should not be used on chrome on a consistent basis.

it claims not to pit even after repeated uses, perhaps youre thinking of the wheel cleaner which is very strong and easily damages the surface?

One of the Megs wheel cleaners was really strong, Wheel Brightener. I don't know about Hot Wheels, but Wheel Brightener is lethal :D , that might have been what Scott was thinking of.

the front 'chrome' grill on your silverado is plastic though right? that's not the same surface as a chrome bumper. I've always stayed away from these flashy meguiars product that claim in bold lettering on the front of the bottle that "you can use it on anything" then in fine print on the back it's like "don't use it on this or that".

ive been using it on my chrome once a month for about half a year now and no problems have arised, just beautiful, shiny chrome. But to anwser your question the chrome on my front bumper/ grille is the same as my rear chrome bumper. Plus i am reading the back label of the bottle as i am typing and it says its safe polishing action is safe and easy to use and gives chrome a mirror like shine........................and it did on mine:D
