I recently got rear ended and had to have the lower rear panel of my 05 F150 truck repainted. After bringing my truck home from the body shop, I noticed tape marks on the plastic protectors, which cover the top sides of the truck bed and the top of the tailgate. I've tried WD-40, but it didn't work well, and seemed to discolor the plastic which is black. I also tried plastic polish with no luck. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

tried peanut butter ... the oils might do it, and wont stain the trim.

try some prep sol or mineral spirits...then treat your trim...or a citrus cleaner..like orange blast...this stuff works great...or 3M adhesive remover...forgot about this stuff...it works great for glue....get at Napa..or any good auto supply...get the body shop version...they also make one that is citrus based...may be safer...

FloridaNative is right.

Johnson's Baby Oil should do it and will leave your bumper diaper fresh!

goo-gone

careful not to consider goof off , as they have an oil based (very harsh) and a water based formula.

baby oil or peanut oil.

Personally I perfer peanut butter and jelly. Baby oil is a completely different thing.

For the tape removal - what about Goo Gone or even paint thinner?
