Here is my problem…. As you can see from the picture below the area between the vertical engine cowling and the fenders are at an angle that is impossible to get to using a PC and 6.5” pad. Since the fenders slant inward toward the engine cowling it collect dust and dirt and between the front fenders and bugs it's probably the second worst spot to keep scratch/swirl free. I have been doing this area by hand with PB and then using RMG to cover up what is left, so does anyone have any suggestions?

This car has some many bad angles that are really hard to get....Check out right along the running board, there is about 2" that you can't get with a PC.

Dennis,

I would recommend using Meguiar's ScratchX to remove defects in those areas. If used properly, it can do some pretty awesome stuff by hand.

I have ScratchX already. What kinda of pad would you use if doing it by hand? I thought about taking a old PC pad and cutting it up.

That shouldn't be necessary...I would first try using a regular Polyfoam applicator. If you need more bite, you might want to try something like this - http://www.autogeek.net/german-applicator-pad.html

Another item you may want to check out is the Wolfgang polishin pal.
You can get all the pad choices that you have with a PC and it works
great for doing by hand task. I love mine and would not be without it.
