From glass or paint?

The spots are noticable on the hood. Not so much on the sides or the tailgate.

Thanks in advance.

A good polishing should take care of them. Some waterspots can be permanetley etched though.

I've had success removing spots with PB's SSR series, a PC and light cutting pad on my black car.

Surfer, Mike T,
I want to thank you gentlemen for your suggestions. I'll give it a try and see what results I come up with.

wipe finish with vinegar .. it will remove the new spots. Clean the paint with a paint cleaner like P21S or Pinnacle and see if they will remove them. Anything that cannot/willnot come off is etched into the paint. Polishing may correct or reduce them.

Your correct, if it has etched into the paint, the only thing you can do is reduce it. I done a red 99 F-150, went over the paint three times with megs #4 and two cutting pads.

Do you use the vinegar concentrated or cut it with water?

White vinegar pure. then go back with soap and water after it.

My wife's Explorer had bad waterspots on the hood. I got rid of them by using the following:

1) Wash / Clay
2) Poorboys SSR 2.5 w/ orange pad
3) Poorboys SSR 1 w/ white pad
4) Poorboys EX-P w/ gray pad
