I just had the chance to try out OP2 and so far am very pleased with it's correction ability, and it's crisp finishing potential. I was working on a Black Carrera yesterday which was pretty rough. My first pass with the new polish was with a white LC 6" ccs pad. That combo should really be given a go by any detailer who offers one step correction packages. The amount of correction plus the finishing ability make it definitely worth the look. I would say it's correction ability on a black late 90's porsche is very similar to that of sip. The amount of correction was very similar side by side with SIP.

Here you can see a nasty haze covering much marring. I last polished this car a year ago, the owner admitted he has taken it to multiple local car washes. He said they used something that wouldn't come off the paint, which I can only assume this stuff was, as it had no texture, and was only removed by polishing.

This was after op2 and purple wool, finished with op2 and a finishing pad, then wiped down with prep sol.

So far I am happy with the new polish, it smells nice (similar to ps), it definitely cuts quicker than it's predecessor. It stays wet for a while, so it's a huge upgrade imo.

This area was "two-stepped" with OP2.

I didn't finish this job till late last night so I didn't get a chance to take full car shots. Here are few outside shots though.

Absolutely Pat, glad to see they kept a lot of the lubricants, and add a great deal of cut, very clean product to work with.

How have you been? Best wishes to you and your family this holiday season.

Very nice Brian! Sad to see how some people treat their cars, especially when they spend so much on them.

I was a big fan of the original OP and OC, so this new stuff has to be great. Nice job, I know what my next polish and compound order will be with the new Optimum products. I just loved their versatility, whereas quite a few other products can get finicky with different pads and ways of working, OP and OC worked great with basically any combo I tried. Was the only compound I could finish down with very little marring left, looked like I used a finishing polish.

I also got word that Optimum should be coming out with a new finishing polish in about 2 weeks. I am also looking forward to give this a try along with the Metal Polish.

I think it was a chemical sprayer of some sort. He has taken apart this 1934 race car and stripping it down to the bone. This included a significant amount of undercoating in the wells so maybe it has something to do with that car.

Or it's just weed killer, I don't know.

Looks like this OP product will have to go on my list of products to try. Nice review.

Brian,

Thanks for the review. That's what I needed to hear about the product. Now if the finishing product turns out to be better than the best on the market, Optimum will reap the rewards for their hard work.

Derrick.

I am eager to give the new finishing polish a go as well. Could turn out to be one heck of a one two punch.
