My wife and I just bought our first house in October and I decided since graduating from 5 years of college apartment parking lots I would spiff up the garage. I knew that I wanted to build a workbench and also get some storage.
Work I have done so far.
Tapped into the water main to get both a hot and a cold hose connection, this makes washing in cold weather pretty enjoyable.
My dad and I built a pretty stout workbench roughly 5'X2'X36" this gave me enough storage for my tools and provide ample workspace for small projects.
Organized all my tools from the boxes into the cabinets and into toolboxes, and later into the pegboard.
Also couldnt resist getting a new vac n blo shop vac for $69 when we were shopping for some lumber
Here are some pics.....

Two layers of 3/4" MDF glued, clamped, and screwed together. Dont worry all those screws are on the bottom.....

Putting the stud boards into the wall, wanted plenty of support for the pegboard and shelf.

Almost Done

Finished

All I have left to do is arrange the four toolboxes worth of tools onto the pegboard and fill the slideout drawers that are under the bottom shelf and I will be done. I think overall it turned out pretty well....
