So the local car wash ass-raped my G35's paint and I just couldn't take it anymore so I got myself a Porter Cable, orange and white pads, and some Poorboy's SSR 2.5. Being my first try, I wanted to share my results, it is an absolute WORLD of difference.
Here....
A close-up of what I was going to fix: scratches, swirl marks, and haze.

Not all of it is car wash's fault, but the heavy stuff is due to them.

Deep scratches left by the dirty machine wash.

Hood is thoroughly cleaned, and taped up. No clue what the tape is for but I decided to be professional and use it too.

A closer shot of the prepped surface.

50/50 shot; left side done with SSR 2.5 and orange, right side untouched.

Same thing; 50/50, left side done, right side untouched.

Under dual halogens, sorry for the bad picture. Left side got Klasse AIO and white pad, right side STILL untouched. Looking even better.

Tape is off but there is a mark left by the tape in the middle, showing the 50/50. I am a bad photographer but the difference in person was night and day.

Another 50/50 shot without the tape, right side still untouched.

After the pics, I did the right side of the hood, same as left: SSR2.5 & orange, then K-AIO & white. Wiped down the whole hood with Z-AIO and still waiting for it to dry up.
I have NEVER used a PC7424 before, only watched the videos and did lots of online reading but NO experience. It took me several passes on one area before I got the technique down right, and SSR2.5 was not able to take care of everything. There are still a couple of deep scratches still there, but the haze is gone and the swirls are gone. When summer time rolls around, I will have to do the entire vehicle and I'd like to try the Pinnacle XMT products as well.
Thank you to AG for giving me the right advice and recommending the right tools for the job. Thanks to the forum members who were quick to the punch to answering my questions while working.
Thanks,
Emile
