Been meaning to upload these pics for the past month or so, but I've just been busy.

Lighting sucked in both details, but more so with the Civic. Shooting that white car in that lighting was nearly impossible, so excuse the crappy quality.

For the Titan detail...

-Wash with DG901
-Wolfgang clay
Used the Flex 3401 w/orange + white pads....
-Meguiar's #105 in stubborn areas
-Menzerna Power Finish on most of the truck, tried mixing them together in some areas and it worked very well - increased working time and still cut fast / finished down VERY nicely.
-Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant

Curious cat...

Mixture of Menz Power Finish and M105 on the hood, tested a small area which is why the surrounding spots were still swirled (part of the hood closer to me).

And some more before/afters...

Diamondite Glass Restorer on the windows....these were terribly stained and needed multiple passes

And finally done. Didn't go too crazy taking too many "after" shots which kinda sucks, but the sun was killing it, I was dead tired, and my customer needed his truck back.

OK and now for my terrible 2006 Si pictures.

This car was washed with DG901, clayed with Wolfgang Clay like the last one....then M105 with a cutting pad, Power Finish with a green pad, and I wanted to put something very durable on it so the oxidation wouldn't come back, so I used Duragloss #105.

PB BnB on tires, Opti-Seal on wheels, etc.

This whole car was very oxidized, my guess is a lack of protection + nasty sprinkler water + soft Japanese paint + harsh sunlight = crappy finish.

It also started pouring halfway through the detail, so "afters" were taken in the garage.

On a side note, in that last pic...the new WG DGPS 3.0 is beading very nicely on the hood of my beater Civic. Not bad for 2 months and not 1 single wash. :D

nice job. i like your style of using a baseline list of products instead of 8000 things.

so you've discovered the horrible secret regarding new hondas, haha

yeah, unless a new honda (06+, unsure of 05, but 04 was fine) is maintained from literally day one, it will etch SO easily..and chip, and scratch. the clear is absolutely horrendous. soft soft soft.

i just did an 07 yesterday like my wifes that previously had been worked on with a high speed, i assume to remove etching (just like my wifes). it had horrendous holograms and i was able to fix that, however even after i was done, the front of the car just had so many microscopic pinholes from strikes, and despite an obvious previous massive attack with a rotary and some sort of heavy cut stuff, the bottoms of some of the etched spots were still there. this, among other reasons, is why this honda is the last for our family...

I hear you....I love Hondas, but the paint does suck. I had a blue '07 Si for a little over a year, and it had a bunch of stone chips and tons of bug etching on the front bumper with only ~18k miles on it. That's with me using Collinite products too. :(

Never had any problems with the paint on either my '96 Z28 (dark green, original paint and was beautiful) before I got rid of it, or the '01 Z06.

both cars look great. How has your experience been with the Power Gloss? Assuming that is the latest release. I'm running low on IP and have a short list of what i should get next. I have 105 already and I love it.

Matt S.

Didn't use Power Gloss....Power Finish is what I used, which has a similar cut to IP but finishes down very nicely. If you have 105, adding Power Finish to your lineup will be a solid 1-2 punch to tackle nearly anything and finish to a perfect shine.

thanks Matt. Saw your other post re: the power finish too. Sounds like a good one to pick up.

Did you think the clear is on the soft side?
Did the Titan have horrible orange peal?
The paint on mine is horrible. I dont see it as much in other colors. I was just wondering?

Matt S.

Orange peel was not terrible, but pretty typical of a big truck. The clear on the Titan was actually quite hard, and some areas needed several passes of M105/Power Finish for correction.

Awesome job on both vehicles! I've been waiting to see the pics of the Si....man that thing was bad! How can a 2 year old car look that way!?! :(

On a side note, have you seen or tried the new Meguiars M205 coming out for '09?

Matt S.

Nope, have not seen it. Can't wait to try that and the new DA-friendly M105.
