Duragloss Process??

I have decided to go with duragloss for my winter protection. Thing is Im a little confused on how to combined them. How does this sound?

#501 than 601 than 105, let it cure for 12 hours than add 951(AW).

Will this process work well???

This is the process that I learned from Sparkie and he is excellent with DG products.
DG501=work like an AIO and let cure 12-24 hrs.
DG105=apply by hand and let cure 12-24 hrs
AW=Cure 12-24 hours
Repeat DG105 and AW two more times waiting for cure times.
I haven't used 601 but have heard good things about it prior to 105.

I would approach it this way:

501 (apply/remove) followed immediately by 601 & 105. Once the 105 glazes over remove it using Aquawax.

501 is essentially a chemical cleaner and doesn't require a cure time. The 601 bonding agent locks in the 105 so no long cure period is needed. AW adds a bit more sealant and a bit more bling to the 105. Repeat with AW the next day if desired.

This is assuming machine polish and all other prep steps have been performed first. Right or wrong this works well for me.

that sounds like too much work....surely you can get it knocked down to just 2 steps....i mean seriously 4 steps...i dont even make 4 passes when i am polishing out a car....your protection might be a little overkill

While I have used the #601 PBA prior to the #105, I'm not totally convinced it is necessary.
One of our vehicles was just cleaned/prepped with #501 and a PC and I then applied the #105 without using the #601.
Any #951 AW applications are usually done at each wash.
Durability has never been much of a problem for me since I usually do another application of my primary protection every 4 to 6 weeks and it seems that all the products I use will last at least that long.

FWIW, It was a two step process, but a third step with the #601 would probably have only added about 10 minutes to the whole process. Actually, the 4th step of AW would only have added another 10 minutes. I happen to prefer to let a sealant cure a day or so. Whether it is needed could be debated, but..... That's why we have forums, :D

If the paint is in nice shape you may only the 105. The 501 is for cleaning the paint if needed. The 105 has a cleaner in it , and that may be enough. The Aqua Wax is just used after a wash . So now its just a 1 step. A lot of people think 601 is not needed at all.

Actually, I don't really think I would need to do the monthly thing, but I still do it. :D

There is a misconception on 501...501 is a cleaner product..BUT also is a Sealant...it has great durability also...as good as 105...look..its for marine applications..for boats in water ...you need durability there...

I have used 501 as a stand alone product and also used it topped with Collinite for winter use and have it go all winter for me....

501 has great cleaning properties...it removes brake dust...road emissions from in the paint down to the micro pore level..its not layer able due to the cleaners....

it also has corrosion inhibitors in it...and its super slick to retard any water borne contaminants from sticking to the boat..

its best to let 501 setup before topping it with anything..it is a sealant....

any topper should be done at least 12 hours after 501 is cured..it does crosslink.....

then I would AW after first wash.....since AW is a spray sealant..you do not want to have to many reactions going on at once...sealant curing and AW curing...so use after all sealants have cured...

for the OP..do the 501 one day..next day do the 601 and top with 105

this is just 501 on the paint after buffing it off...very glossy

DG 601 should work with most sealants that are not Acrylic based...it may work with them also...never tried so i do not know...

I have used it with older version of UPP..made a difference since it never lasted for me alone..but did with 601...

used with PB's EX-P..lasted some what longer than alone

so it does do something in a way to extend the life..

should work fine with Wolfgang..I bet even with Fuzion

What's this about cure time with 501? This weekend I worked it into my paint with a 7424, white pad, speed 5 and wiped off with an MF towel. Then I immediately put on 601 and 105.

Come on let's be serious here, DG does nothing for looks. One coat of a DG product such as DG105 or DG111 for durability, and then top with a beauty wax and you're done.
