wifey got home early today so i figured i would give her car a once over....i did a winterizing about a month ago(wash, clay, SIP/EGP, Coli 476s) and figured i would wash it and add another coat or two of Colli to it today.....

todays order of business:

foam with the Gilli - Hyperwash(didnt feel like draggin out the Cam Spray and PW)

get the bugs and crap off the front with Megs body solv(first time using it...worked OK smells great)

megs APC @ 5:1 cleaned the wheel wells and wheels(hubcaps)

megs apc 5:1 in the jambs

wash with Two Buckets using hyperwash

dry with the leave blower and Megs Waffle weaves

waxed with Colli 476s (By Hand) X2 - this was my first time waxing by hand...the colli was fairly soft and i always wanted to try it....it actually worked great and i think it looks better than it did last time i did it.....

Rejex on the front bumper and headloghts (to try and keep the bugs from stickin)

full wipe down with Last touch

tired dressed with Megs Hyperdressing 1:1

hubcaps waxed with Wheel wax

interior wasnt bad so a quick vaccum and wipe down with APC

glass cleaned with ZEP glass cleaner

engine wiped down with a MF as it was still clean from last time....

now this car is her company car which we were able pick the color and order new(pearl White)....un fortunetly it was delivered from OHIO (driven) through a snowstorm and washed at the local coin Op by the driver who dropped it off...when he called saying he was on his way and was just going to stop off and wash the car i begged him not to....he had to as per his company policy....i was pissed because he nicely installed some Rids and misc scratches which i pointed out to him upon delivery.....i did a light correction on it in january when we got it so it loks Ok but my wife is kind hard on it.....i am going to wait until spring to do a full correction on it....also i found a nicely dented rocker panel and scraped door...she says she has no idea what happened...

here arte the pics...the sun went away right as i was finishing...camera battery was dead so no befores.....

yeah well theres a story behind why i do it....well first off i am a bit anal and i like the car looking good in front of my house....

but a big reason why i keep after it is my wife....her last car from this company wasnt new it was the person whos position she took over....it was a 2 year old Camry in charcoal with about 50K on it and looked like hell when she go it....the owner was a smoker and a slob....i pulled the entire interior sanitized everything and put it all back together then clayed and did a minor correction(ran out of time to do a full correction)....when the people from her company saw it they were floored...so now she is known as the clean car girl.....so anytime she has a company affair she wants the car clean to keep up that reputation....and she is great so i dont mind doing it.....plus its a great test bed for any new products i want to try....:righton:

Nice job. So the wife gets all the credit for your hard work?

nahh she tells them its her husband who keeps after it....although she does reap the benefits....i told her the other day that i wish i was married to me so i could see what it feels like to have my car detailed and not actually have to do it....although i love doing it...LOL....

So you've always only applied waxes by machine? Waxing a vehicle by hand (with an applicator) is easily the cheapest therapy out there. :buffing:

Really nice job. You said in your post that you used Collinite #476 but you have a picture of Marque D'Elegance sitting on the trunk of the car. Did you use that as your top coat, after the #476?

whoops...grabbed the wrong wax after i was done...LOL....have to change that pic.....thanks for pointing in out....

when i say i applied it by hand i mean BY HAND...no applicator was used...i have always used an applicator never a machine...

read through some of the posts here and you will see guys talking about applying by hand....you actually take the wax in your hand and your body heat softens it and apply with your bare hands....its a neat process....

Yeah that's really cool man. I want to apply a wax by hand but how do you know which waxes will work by hand application?
