This is a 1 owner M5 that the dealer is keeping for his personal collection. Even with 100/k on the odometer, it's in great shape.

The paint is original single stage black and has been compounded prior (unknown amount of times) and the paint was thin in a few areas. I decided to treat this gently because of the paint thickness.

The car looked good until I put it on the lift and the halogens:

Then, the true paint condition was shown

I've had great success with Meguiar's Color X on single stage paints, so I used that with the So1o yellow foam pads and backing plate. When I came to a tough scratch area, I used Meguiar's #83 on the yellow pad. Following that, I re-applied Color X with the black So1o pad.

In progress afters:

I'll take some completed pics at the conclusion of the resto. I'll probably apply a coat of #26 before the car goes into the storage area.

Fun car: only 1,235 were imported and the car was advertised in Road & Track as a 150 Mph 4 door family car.
