If I use some microfiber towels for metal polishing, should they be kept for just metal polishing? or can they be used for anything after cleaning?

I keep my towels dedicated for certain purposes but this is primarily due to not only the 'type' of MF towel but obviously the 'quality'. If I used a MF to polish metal, I would probably either make that an official metal polishing towel or demote the towel to 'general purpose'.

I also keep my microfibers seperate from each other. There's my general purpose, wheel towels, then those for the paint. I also keep different wash mitts for my different vehicles. I do all this just for an added protection of not cross contaminating

I separate mine by glass, paint, rocker panels/wheels

I generally separate my towels as well.

I think that as long as after you wash the towels they have no polish residue and the surface of the towel has not been altered then it would be just fine.

I think whatever towels touch paint should not be used for anything but touching paint.

I too keep metal polishes (well towels used) away from other towels. The products can be quite caustic and tarnish from metal seems like something that most washers might need a little extra time to remove altogether.

Keep your towels seperate. To be honest, i even wash my microfiber towels seperately based on color. :buffing:

i think it depends on the quality of the water you use. i have softened water so using the prescribed amount of the DP MF cleaner (which is very little) will make some suds, but it's not like a bubble bath or anything. typical city water will probably yield less suds. good question though...
