Any suggestion of really good products to repair burns in fabric headliners?
I've used the Permatex "fabric repair kit" (the stuff with the flock-like particles that you mix to color). I can perfectly match the color and even get a near perfect texture--when still wet--but once the supplied adhesive dries everything goes "hard" and while the color still matches perfectly, the repair is too glossy and the very top surface that provided the texture match just rubs off.
A millions times better than a burn hole but I suspect there's still a better way.
After filling in the backing (of couse) I've also tried cutting tiny, perfectly fitted pieces of replacement fabric, but no matter how hard I try (using the Permatex kit), I still wind up with a noticeable ring around the repair.
