Don't mean to post non-AG product but thought this was interesting, searched and some autoforums have users of it, some guy with an LS posted pics on the Lexus board. Didn't know if anyone on here heard of it, basically adds a ceramic coating to your car?, wonder how it would compare to Mercedes ceramic coat.

no linkies ... you know better sir !!

I have heard of product and believe it is sold more as a coating than a sealant. It has been brought up against a new product in development from Optimum coded OptimumX.

yeh wonder about this OptimumX. With these new things, are they pretty much a "use and never wax again type deal"?. Mercedes Ceramiclear is great, you can wash for over a year with no swirls provided you use good technique whereas other paints no matter how careful you are you will get swirled up after a year.

Any word on when OptimumX would be released? Is this supposed to be like a Clear Coat for the Clear Coat?

these products are semi permanent coatings, not permanent like clear coat. Most should / are sold by professional installers. Kinda like adding a clear bra I suppose but much to complicated and expensive for average detailer currently.

If is that one that i have in mind,it is something a clear coat but not permanent, that they spray it above the paint/CC.it is popular in Japan and they say that it lasts up to 5 years. Also they said that it can protect the paint from stone chips. But i don't believe in those products, but on the other hand i would like to find something that it could make harder my soft clear coat : )
here is a link to see what i am talking about

GOOGLE SEARCH : THREEBOND out of UK

Sacrificial barrier? It would be much cheaper to reapply another layer of this versus having more clear applied.

I have a rule -- when you breach the clear, you sell the car. Likely time for a replacement, or maybe you just wanted an excuse.
