Kind of a double post, but I know on some forums people don't read any new intro threads.

2007 FJ cruiser. Voo-Doo Blue. I am excited to get my stuff and get to work. I have some fine scratches and water spots that I can not get out. I usually use meguairs gold class soap , and gold class clay, polish and carnuba wax. I have tried the eagle one nano-wax. Seemed like a bit of a flop. The interior products they make are good though. So any way, I decided to go with wolfgang products, excpet for my clay which auto geek had the pinnacle clay kits on sale, and I got the pinnacle wax, cause I couldn't bring myself to drop 175.00 on the wolfgang wax.

while Fuzion is certainly a great wax and worth the cost, nothing wrong with either Pinnacle Paste. Souveran Paste is super wet with nice depth and works best on blacks, yellows, and reds, and SSII is super nice on lighter colors and metallics too.

Thanks everyone. I will post a few pics of everything when it arrives, and of course of my truck, both before and after. My only real problem is that I have to use my buddies garage to work in, as I live in a townhouse, and no shade anywhere. Nice thing is though, He got tall ceilings so I can use the step ladder, and dual ceiling fans and plenty of lighting. I figure it is going to be a all day job if not more...

I may start on it tonight, or I will get up really early in the morning and go at it. Got to do it all. Wash, clay, swirl, polish, seal and wax. Plus the windshield and polish the wheels. Should be a long day, or a all-nighter tonight.

My kids just peeked over the computer screen, and I had to minimize my browser. That's some serious contraband you guys have posted. I'll have to make sure and clear my cache so my wife doesn't know which sites I'm visiting :D

Alright. Got out there early this morning and got started. Did my windshield first with the polish kit. So-So results at first. Went over it with the clay afterwards ( shoulda done it before hand, I know) and I am happy with the results. The Toyota windshield in the FJ cruiser and the scion xB are known for getting sand blast speckles in them and the driver seeing " sparkles" when driving into the sunlight. This helped out alot.

I then clayed the entire truck, after taping it all off and getting everything ready. Used the Wolfgang swirl remover ,with a orange pad, And I could see big changes just after doing the hood. Still have a few water spots here and there that it would not pull out. Either way, Once again, big improvement.

Then i used the finishing glaze, with a white pad. I didn't like this stuff at all. I came off pretty easy on the blue paint, but it seemed like it dried into the white paint on the roof pretty quick. Even inside a garage. I had to use some detail spritz just to take the buffed in glaze off the truck.... I don't know maybe I was running the buffer too fast, or too slow, but I kinda thought I was wasting time using it. Any ideas...???

Then , And you guys are gonna love this. I started in with the Wolfgang sealant, and a gray pad. Was going along nicely, Had the hood covered, both front fenders, and half of my roof covered. I has getting along in my job and feeling good about my work at this point. So my cell phone rings. My girlfriend was rear ended in the rain, on the interstate, goin 60 m.p.h. in a very rain, in the next county. So I had to jump in the truck, taped up, with sealant on the damn thing, and take off to the hospital. So as it stands, It is 2:30 in the morning, I still have sealant on my truck, no rain x on my windshield, and all my detailing gear is still in my buddies garage, Pads are wet and all, although I had my buddy set them in water when He got home. I left there at 8:30 p.m. I am by no means mad a t my girl, but damn, I feel like my whole day was wasted, along with supplies. At least I didn't get into my jar of wax, and only had sealant on about half of the truck.

So, I will start over from the beginning the nest time I have a day off.

I will upload some pics tomorrow.
