I am looking into buying a custom set of chrome wheels for my truck from American Racing . They have and recommend their own brand of polish and protectant . does anyone know anything about it . I am concerned since the wheels are chrome and do not want to chance voiding the warranty using another brand product .

Seeing as they will be new any strong sealant/wax will protect them with no problem. They should only need soap and water to clean them thoroughly if you stay on top of them from the get go.

They are new so I would protect with something like DG 105 or FK Hi Temp wax

use a dedicated chrome polish like Mothers as needed. Using a wheel sealant like Poorboys or DP will protect them and means less polishing too.

I found a homemade polish at a drag race in Norwalk OH a few years ago. Looks sort of like a milky solution that you just polish on until it turns black and then buff off the residue. The guy sold it at a little stand set up in the concession area of the dragstrip. Wonderful stuff and seems less harsh then the pastes and similar products for chrome. I would agree with killrwheels though, find a good chrome polish and then sealant.
