I have a garage kept since new 82 Z28 with 15,000 miles. The plastic interior at the rear hatch has either faded, or my guess, just poor production process of the plastic.

The only thing I have used on it was the original ArmorAll from the early 80's to today's APC. You will notice how some parts were not affected. Nothing will hide the blemishes. I believe the only cure is to replace or to dye.

Whats your opinions? Thanks.

That looks bad. At least its a plastic part and there are surely some good survivors out there that you can replace it with. My only concern with dyeing the plastic would be matching the rest of the surrounding trim peices. Or you could be stuck doing the whole interior to keep color consistency. On a low mile keeper like yours I would dig high and low for some original non-faded plastic. Your car is WORTH IT!!!!

The chances of finding an 82 with good plastic peices just isn't worth the time spent looking. People are not holding onto many 80's cars, they are mostly likely beat to death. Your best bet is to just repaint them, btw hard plastics are spray painted not dyed. Look through Year One's web site and see if they sell a matching grey spray paint. Chances are Chevy used the same gray in the mid-late 70's cars.

You may be in luck, a late model mustang restoration company (good rep on mustang boards) is now offering Chevy truck parts and misc items. They happen to also offer a crap load of Chevy truck interior colors you should be able to find your paint
Chevy/GMC Truck Interior Paint at LRS - Same Day Shipping! (http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/products/Chevy-GMC-Truck-Interior-Paint)

EDIT: The fading of your pieces doesn't look uniform, almost like it's chemically induced. I would try a new interior cleaner to be honest. That first picture posted under the vent looking thing, that to me looks like a sweep of the hand during cleaning.
