ORIGINAL POST
Got me a 2008 F250 Supercab PSD in December 2007. Traded in my '99 Explorer 5.0 V8. Planning for a bigger camper, so I bought the "horse" before the "cart".
I haven't posted here in a while. Lots of things been going on........my kids in accidents (they're fine); health problems with my wife and I. She has 4 stents, and a couple months ago, started having chest pains. Cardiac cath done showed no problems, thank God. She's doing much better now. Blood pressure and thyroid problems with me. Starting to come under control with drugs. Both my wife and I finally quit smoking! We've been "breathing free" since the end of December. We're doing better now.
The new truck was a "treat" for quitting smoking! All the money saved is going in my gas tank now!
Anyway, here are some pics of my truck. This is just a "Show"...not really a "Shine":D
On Sunday......
DP 4-n-1 wash. Dried with Cobra Guzzler Supreme.
Wheels, tires cleaned with ARO. Dressed with Megs Hot Shine Tire Foam.
DG AW as LSP.
Took some pics today.

Now be like my friend and get the DPF kit to remove it and not have codes, stupid Ford/GM/Dodge and their DPF and regen mode. New trucks suck donkey balls for mileage. Remove that crap and with a good tune and the 6.4 rocks and gets way, way better mileage and runs better then stock.

the problem with the 08s there almost impossible to mod. there like i think i heard 8 sensors in the exhaust.Thats why you remove the DPF and tune :D , my buddies 08' went from like 11 city 14 highway, to 15-16 city and 18-20 highway on a crew cab. Regen mode dumps fuel in causing crap mileage. There are DPF delete kits and to get rid of regen mode.

the only thing i did to my truck is an exhaust and small lift. i dont want to ruin my warranty. ford sucks at that. they look for any mod to void your warrantee..

dont they make a Predator for those trucks where you can simply remove the tune prior to service. Works for GM cars.

I don't think any of the big 3 can be tuned to fool the DPF and Regen mode with it still installed, what happens is the DPF causes backpressure as it gets full to which the engine dumps extra fuel in raising egts to burn the crap off.

Getting rid of it and a good tune by SCT on the 6.4 is night and day difference, nevermind the huge increase in power, but the engine drives so much better and way better mileage. There are similar kits for Dodge and GM and their DPF systems. But with all them now, the dealers can check if a tune was ever done as removing it beforehand doesn't work anymore.

Would love to DPF delete and a good tune, but I definitely can't afford to screw up my warranty.

It is a lot of truck! Took me 3 1/2 hours today to wash, glaze, wax and dress the truck. I'm aching right now! Wife was nice and rubbed Icy Hot on me! LOL.

Very nice looking truck and a super detail. My daughter drives an Eddie Bauer Expedition with the big motor and I cringe every time I'm with her when gets it filled up so can understand where you're coming from. Very nice ride and can tow a house but those fuel bills, wow. Good luck with you and your wife's health issues.
